ok, ok! I'll just SAY IT!

I AM 30. That is all I have to say. It feels really weird, and I don't like the fact that I have a new age bracket box to check - I don't like the fact that claire keeps asking me if I'm going to look different (I hope not!) - I am no longer in my late 20s - the list goes on and on and on ...
i am really making this a bigger deal that it needs to be, so i will shut up and whine in the shower from now on. :)

but i'm pokey!

Tim and Claire went to the dentist on Wednesday - and on the way home, Tim decided to treat Claire to some ice cream, so after a quick stop at DK's, they began to head home. Tim told Claire not to tell her brothers that she got ice cream, and that she needed to make sure to eat it all up before they got home. She looked up from her dripping vanilla cone with big brown eyes, and cried, "Do I have to eat it fast? I'm pokey!" Which is soo funny, because she really is! She is the slowest eater in the house, and we are always teasing her, calling her "pokey". She fussed again, and told Tim, "I'll get an ice cream headache! I can't hurry!" She was so worried that she wouldn't be able to enjoy her creamy little treat, and have to scarf it down! Needless to say, they had plenty of time to eat ice cream, to which she promised NOT to tell Cam and Cal about the surprise.
But promises are quickly forgotten by a 6 yr. old hehe ...

it's sparkling clean!

It has just been beautiful outside! Spring has finally arrived, and yesterday, I was outside with Caloway and Ava, swinging and loving the sunshine. Caloway ran inside to go potty, and a few minutes later, came back out, and announced - "Ah, Mommy - the potty is sparkling clean!" My ears perked up at that, because whenever a 3-yr. old declares that something is "sparkling clean" it either means he's admiring my cleaning skills, or something messy happened, and he decided to clean up on his own. Of course it turned out to be the latter, so Ava and I trekked inside and followed him to the bathroom. He kept saying, "See? It's sparkling clean, mom! I cleaned it - it's not dirty!" Oh brother - you could smell it before you saw it! So we tidied up with Mr. Clean (I love those wipes!!), and washed up our hands. It was sweet of him to try and fix the "oops"!
