grandma who??

after spending the evening with tim and cameron at camp, the kids and i headed to grammy's house for the night. grammy and grampy are in michigan, so the house was kinda lonely without them! while i was getting their teeth brushed, and jammies on, claire was remarking on the bathroom decorations ...
"these are pretty towels, aren't they, mommy?"
"yes, claire ..."
"elderly ladies usually have nice decorations, don't they!"

camp chautauqua!

cameron officially went to camp this week for the first time! tim is taking a group of 3-5th graders to camp chautauqua in franklin, ohio, which is the same camp that he grew up going to when he was a kid! we've taken many groups there, during our years in youth ministry, so all of our kids are very familiar with chautauqua. this is just the first time cam gets to go as a camper, and not tagging along with mom and dad ;)
i got plenty of hugs early this morning, as we loaded up the boys' stuff into the car. cameron was so excited to go, especially because his good friend, tyler, is meeting him there at camp to spend the week with him! those 2 are two peas in a pod, and after a quick call to tim, to make sure they arrived safely, i'm sure he'll have his hands full with those 2 together all week! they are both good boys, just very talkative, haha! they are so funny together!
so it's down to 2 kiddos here at home - me, claire and caloway! we plan on driving up to camp on wednesday, to spend the day with daddy and cam, and stay overnight at grammy's a few days, since they only live about an hour from camp. i'm hoping to get a few projects done while we're home alone - get mac's room painted, possibly ours, and at least start sanding down an old dresser i bought a few weeks ago to re-finish. i have high hopes, and not a lot of stored energy :)
caloway decided to make toast by himself this morning, and woke me up shortly after, whispering in my ear,
"mom! i made toast, and it got burnt! it smelled like dead pootying!"
wow. and so our week begins ...
