focus

i was working this morning on an outline for a message i'm giving at our ladies' conference next week, and trying to keep both kids focused on their schoolwork at the same time. brain storm, type. type. help with math problem. type. type. come up with funny opener. type. haul daughter back to table to complete math assignment. type. remind cameron that he's taking a test and i cannot supply the answer. type. type. turn around, horrified, to see caloway scribbling away on a piece of paper with orange marker, using my new arm chair as a desk. TYPE. TYPE. GRR.
anyway, i finished the rough draft, and went to the kitchen to check on claire, and was mildly amused at the layout of her "desk" ...



juice box: check.
jewelry and earrings: check
mirror: check

perhaps her focus was a little "off" . . . the books and pencils were shoved far off in the background. she has now begun swiping my pretty necklaces and bracelets that my friend, erin, has made for me. soon it will be makeup, then shirts and sweaters, and then ... SHOES!
